Meet Carleen
Hello! Let’s get to know each other.
I’ve been passionate about communication, neurodiversity, consulting, and coaching for decades. Some of my favorite experiences along the way have been as a camp counselor for Deaf kids and teens, a preschool teacher, a manager at an after-school program for children with special needs, and my ongoing gig as a mom of two wonderful kids! All of these amazing opportunities have culminated in my dream job: being a speech-language pathologist working children and their families.
In addition to being a licensed and certified SLP, I hold a certificate in Ayres Sensory Integration from USC, and I’m a Certificated Lactation Educator. I’m also a certified Safe and Sound Protocol provider. I’ve received additional training in executive functioning skills, gestalt language development, and orofacial myology. I earned a Master of Science in Communication Disorders & Sciences from CSU Northridge, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Santa Clara University and a Master of Fine Arts in Cinema from the University of Southern California.
In my free time, I love hiking, camping, knitting, baking, singing, and juggling (literally and figuratively). I’m an avid reader of both professional and popular literature, and an Oxford comma enthusiast. I enjoy travel to faraway lands and close-to-home adventures with my amazing husband, daughter, son, and our pup.
